Gotta Lose Weight

Sigh. 😞

I had my annual physical yesterday with Dr. Sadiq. The good news was that the extra blood screening she did about my clots came back negative.

The bad news is that I’ve gained 5 kilos since this time last year. That’s eleven pounds, for those who are metric-impaired. I knew that I had gained weight, but I was surprised that it was that much. I have a list of reasons why, but the doctor was concerned enough that she made me make another appointment for four weeks from now to get re-weighed.

I think if I had to put the problem down to one thing, it’s that I use food as reward. That is particularly evident when I do Nanowrimo, and I’ve done that three times since last April: Camp last July and this past April, and the main event in November with all the leftover Halloween candy.

I also think that with the uncertainty about my knee and what I should be doing with it, I slacked off somewhat with commuting last year and working out this winter.

Enough excuses! Put down the fork! 🍽

  1. Extra weight can be a drag. I weighed my self the other day and found I had lost 18 lbs. Have been eating smaller meals, not that hungry. I think it has to do with the new cancer medicine. Good luck Dad.
