Stampeders Game from the ENMAX Box

I got an email from Mary when I was at Tech Trek:

Hi Simon,

ENMAX has invited Esri to come to the football game – Calgary vs Hamilton – and Dave and I are going.

There is room for one more.

Don’t know if you want to come, but wanted to invite you.Β  No pressure either way.

Can you let me know tonight?

Mary

I said yes, of course. And tonight was the night. The view from the box was good.

View from the box towards downtown

There was football-suitable food like hot dogs and nachos and dip, and fun things, like Stampeder logo-shaped cookies.

The white one in the foreground was eaten shortly after this photo was taken

The Stamps won the game 28-14 over the Hamilton Tiger-cats, but I’d say the highlight of the night was meeting Jon Cornish. He came into the box to meet and greet. Sorry about the quality of the photo. I shook his hand.

Jon Cornish, #9 and mayor of Calgary

Rain hit in the third quarter, but I was warm and dry. Such luxury. I feel so lucky to have been invited.

  1. A nice time had. Not in the weather. Neat cookies, how did they taste?? Next time you go you can point up to the box and say I was there…
