Three Days In A Row

At the office, that is. 😢 For the first time in a long time, I headed into the office a few days in a row this week. I’ve got another project starting up at work, and among the various options I could have chosen to get things underway, I figured this was the easiest. I’ve got everything set up now, so I’ll be back to my regular routine tomorrow. But it certainly was a reminder of why I pushed to get the privilege of working from home.

Yesterday was the worst, because I missed my regular bus coming home, so didn’t get home until 6:30, and then it was a few bites and out the door to the high school. There was a public information session on the future of elementary schools in this area, and it ran from 7 to 9.

The information session was interesting. I didn’t know what to expect, since I’d heard about what had happened around here last fall, when the School Board announced they’d be closing two of the four elementary schools and building one new one. It was a big shouting match and in the end the School Board retracted their announcement, and this information session was the first step in a new process to figuring out what to do about the aging schools around here. Last night it was about getting input from the public, so we all broke up into groups and came up with various lists of things like what is important to be in a new school building, what programs and services, and questions about why hadn’t certain options been investigated. The next session is in September, and I’m planning to go to it, too.
