So what does Automator do?
Automator is a way to script things in Mac OS X. I have never really looked at it before, preferring to do my scripting in the UNIX environment (i.e. in Terminal), but Macworld posted a video yesterday about Automator, and I found I could do a very useful process: (1) drag photo out of iPhoto (2) drop into designated folder (3) photo is automatically resized suitable for posting to ii News.
I had a Perl script that I’ve used to do this for ages, now it is officially retired.
