Venus Transit

In progress! The sun broke through. It’s windy as heck, but we’re dealing with it. We watched the first contact (right on time at 3:07 by my watch) through to Venus being fully on the face of the Sun.

The Sun has now gone behind the trees across the street. We went down to the garage after supper and set the telescope just inside, out of the wind. That worked pretty well to steady the paper sheet we were projecting onto.

The transit is about half over now. It was a lot of fun to take part, and I am so glad the weather relented.
