Broken Pinky

Well, I suppose in the end it’s nice to know if know that the pain I was feeling in my pinky finger actually had a cause. I went for a follow up appointment with the doctor yesterday. She recommended getting a follow-up x-ray. So I made my way there and had the same set of x-rays done as the first time. I got a phone call at 4 o’clock from the doctor saying that the results had arrived and that I had a nondisplaced fracture of the proximal bone in my pinky finger. She then checked the waiting times at various urgent care centers around the city and found that the one downtown had the shortest waiting times, so I made my way there. A couple of hours later I looked like this:

Cast
Cast

It will be on for two weeks. After that, I guess they’ll re-x-ray and see if the bone is healed. The doctor said that given it has been two weeks since the injury and there would be a further two weeks with a cast on that it might be healed.
