Today she turned 11! (And Stephanie turned 40!)
Our New Year’s Eve “party” consisted of watching a few episodes of House M.D. and playing a Cars 2 Xbox 360 game. We had some chips and fruit for snacking and a bottle of Baby Duck. We all managed to stay awake until it was the dawn of 2015 and Miranda’s birthday.
After opening gifts and cards at breakfast we headed to Chinook Centre. It was our gift to her. With all the comings and goings of late, everything that is normally planned wasn’t, so we said that we’d give her a gift certificate to that mall and she could buy whatever. In reality we just set an amount and she picked stuff she wanted. In the end she bought 3 Lego Minecraft sets, some lip balm, a horse statue, some earrings in addition to getting a calendar of Paris, a new hairbrush with elastics, and a Minecraft figurine. It was a pretty successful birthday.
Yesterday Simon started making her cake and today he finished it. It was a new recipe: a peanut butter cake. It was very moist and delicious. He did a super job with it! Her birthday supper, at her request, was ramen soup with grated cheese. It’s one of her all-time favourites next to mac’n’cheese. 😀
Happy Birthday Miranda…and to many more. It’s hard to believe that you’re 11. Not long now until you learn how to drive. We love you. ❤️
Happy birthday to both Miranda and Stephanie! 🙂
Miranda takes after me: any day where you can build lots of Lego is a good day. I predict she will play with the Minecraft Lego all day tomorrow.
Eleven years. Sheesh. <3
Looks like it was a fun filled day.
Happy Birthday, Miranda…abrazos y besos, Baba & Grandpa
