Hello from Regina

It’s Friday today, and I fly back home tonight. It’s been a long week, with too much to do and too little time to do it in. I was in Medicine Hat on Tuesday, talking to their corporate GIS team, and here Wednesday night to speak to TransGas for two days. It’s been going well. The workshop has had a lot of people in it, which is somewhat unusual. Usually, when there is a two-day workshop, the client arranges for a few hours of people’s time and then schedules them to come and take part. But in this case, people have had to cycle out for other meetings, but then they have returned. So the client is investing about a dozen people’s time for two days for this, which does add some pressure. I’m not alone: Jenny from our Toronto office is here, too, and we got Tom from Redlands to speak to them on a conference call first thing yesterday about the upcoming technologies applicable to gas pipelines.

I expect today to go well, and then we’ll head to the airport, and I’ll be back in Calgary by 9:00. I got to see Andre last night; Jenny and I met up with him for dinner at a local Ukrainian restaurant where the food was a mix of rustic traditional fare. The fun thing was Andre ordered “Ukrainian Sushi”, which is rye bread, pickle and onion wrapped in smoked but not fried bacon:
