Year End Piano Recital

(The day started at 5.30 with Simon’s alarm going off.  He’s off at the annual Tech Trek this week and we had to drop him off at the airport for 7 which meant an early morning. )

Today was the annual year-end music recital at the National Music Centre.  Miranda and Ian were in the first session which ran from 10.30-12.00.  There were a lot of kids performing today.  The first group consisted of the the private lessons and the higher level students.  Ian was part of it because siblings could be joined together in the same session if parents requested.  The first part of their session was the piano recital – of which Ian was first to perform.  Then came the violins and finally the voice.  The girl who sang did a very good job of Rolling in the Deep (Adele’s song). Unfortunately I was only able to get pieces of Miranda’s performance as my phone ran out of space and I had to run and get her phone.  I’ve put the fragments up on Facebook.  I was so cheesed and I felt bad.  I couldn’t tell if it bothered her or not. If I can the video clips on here, I will.  She and Ian performed the songs Simon posted as audio files a few days ago. They both did super jobs! 👍💖

After their performances, there was a break so the group could have their treats (cookies, candies, crackers, and juice). Once they had finished their plates we headed home.

  1. ‘Found Ian, where is Miranda? I’s difficult for me to recognize her with her new hair do!! I hope they had a good time and were not too nervous. Love, Nana

  2. When I get home, I’ll show Tammy how to compress and post the videos that she took. It’s been a frustrating week at Tech Trek, because the WiFi has been horrible. I would have done it myself from here if I could.
