A couple of weeks ago, Mark (the club prez) announced that August the 16th would be a kids ride for the club:
Don’t forget to bring your funnest bike and your kids (if you have them) this Sunday Aug 16 for our first cruiser and kids ride. Rain or shine, we will leave Bow Cycle at about 10am to ride mostly bike paths to Bowness Park for juice, coffee, treats and play time. We will then ride back the same route to Bow Cycle to be back by about noon. Kids in Chariots and on Trail-a bikes are just fine if they are too young to ride on their own. Everyone is welcome to this super fun event!
Yesterday morning, it was raining cats and dogs, so we weren’t hopeful that today would work out, but the weather was decent (dry, if a bit cool and partly cloudy). Tammy and Miranda put their bikes on the car rack and drove down to the shop, while Ian and I rode.
There were a good twenty people (kids and adults) on the ride. We all headed along the pathways to Bowness Park, where there was coffee, hot chocolate, snacks, bocce and frisbee golf, as well as an opportunity to play on the big playground.
Afterwards, Ian and I returned with the group to Bow Cycle, while Tammy and Miranda rode up Tuscany Hill and back home.
Lots of fun. Note I’m wearing my Simon’s Cat jersey for the first time! I’ve lost enough weight that it isn’t ridiculously tight any more!
20km is from our house to the ferry and back…quite a trek for the kids!🚴😰👏
Could do with a better view of the “Simon’s cat” jersey!! Sounds like a god day! Mom
