2017 Year-End Piano Recital

And to follow up last night’s coffee house performance, this afternoon was the year-end piano recital for Viva Musica. Ian’s group was on at 2:00, and Miranda’s was supposed to start at 3:30, but didn’t get going until almost 4:00.

It was at the Engineered Air Theatre in the Arts Commons downtown. It is the same place as last year, but I missed last year so it was a new experience for me. I arrived late because I was parking the car, so I was up in the balcony.

Ian played Crazy Comics.

Miranda played Watermark as she did the evening before. But Dad was so engrossed with listening to her introduction and clapping when she bowed, he forgot to record until the song was already underway. Bad Dad, so sad.

They both did very well and we’re very proud of them. The only real crisis was that Miranda was starting to feel hungry by the time she was due to go onstage. Not surprising, given that she went for a 43 km ride with me in the morning. Tammy scrambled to try to get her something to eat before going onstage, but there wasn’t much time or many options. It all worked out in the end.

Here are some photos onstage:
