Happy 11th Birthday, Ian

Today marks 11 years since Tammy brought a nine pound, twelve ounce pink lump into the world. Also known as Ian’s birthday! πŸŽ‚

Of course, with Ian at a sleepover last night, we didn’t get a chance to wish him happy birthday until later than usual. I picked him up near to 9:30, and Tammy was already at work by then. Only a few minutes later, Sepideh and Ilia stopped by to pick us up and we all went for a walk (hike?) at Big Hill Springs Park.

We had a great time, and when we got back, headed out to meet Tammy at Walmart. She went there directly after she got off work at lunchtime, to get last minute supplies for today and tomorrow. We did the shopping, then went to Joey’s Fish and Chips for lunch. That was a bit of a miscalculation, because it was a pretty big meal. We came home and Ian unwrapped presents and had “birthday cake”.

Cake was a raspberry Nanaimo bar. That was his choice for a birthday cake. Tammy made it and it was delicious.

With the big lunch and chocolate, we all kinda went comatose. We FaceTimed with Stephanie and family, and Skyped with Baba and Grandpa. Finally, after seven I kinda prompted us to have some dinner. It was supposed to be his birthday meal (BBQ burgers), but there was only lukewarm appetite for it. Nevertheless, once the meat was on the grill, people got hungry.

We ate out on the deck, and FaceTimed with Grandpa after dinner. Then we tidied up, and watched a movie at Ian’s request:Β Music and Lyrics. I know, weird kid. He’s been bugging us to watch that again since we watched it in our hotel room in Edmonton in January.

A good day, if a bit unusual and too much eating. 😁

Happy Birthday, Mr. Man.
