Ian Builds Big Ben

On Thursday, Tammy took the kids to Chinook Centre after they finished their last day of school. Miranda got a little fairy figurine and Tammy bought a “Junior Scientist Weather Station” from the neat games/collectibles/science store there called the Discovery Hut. Ian got a Lego Architecture set: Big Ben.

He’s been dying to build it with me. The wait since Thursday has been excruciating, because the plan was that he and I would build it first thing on Saturday morning. On Friday afternoon, he was asking why it was so long to bedtime?

Well, today finally arrived, and he did a great job. I helped him follow directions, and with a few pieces that were tough to put together, but he put together almost all of the 346 pieces himself. Took about two hours. Not bad, considering the box says 12+.

Here are a few photos. He’s been carrying the built clock around with him most of the day.

  1. Ian – well done! That is very interesting. Do you think Dad would be able to put it together now after watching you do it? The store sounds like a "Seeing is Believing" store. Is it? Thanks for the call tonight, it was nice to hear your voice. Love, Mom
