In Toronto To Deliver Training

Today I flew from Calgary to Toronto, courtesy of Westjet. Tomorrow and Thursday I will be delivering a course covering how to use Enterprise Architect by Sparx Systems to a group of about 14 people at Esri Canada. This is the same course that I delivered to Quebec in February. The original plan was that I would deliver it to Quebec and then the rest of the interested people after Tech Trek in June. Well, it turned out that 38 people signed up for the Tech Trek course, so they decided to split it up and fly me to Ontario in May to deliver it to the Toronto folk, and then I will teach it again in June to the people from all other parts of the country, who will be in Ontario for Tech Trek anyways.

So I get an extra trip to Toronto. Yay? 😉

My flight was uneventful. It was full, so no luxury of an empty seat next to me. I took a cab to the airport this morning for the first time since Tammy and I were living on the Gorge. Ever since, Tammy has been chauffeuring me to the airport for my flights, but she had to see the kids to the bus stop and then head off to work this morning. I was surprised that it was over $50 to get to the airport. And at the same time, I see billboards at the parking places near the airport saying $44 / week to park. I know that with our plans to fly to Victoria this summer, I had been assuming that we would take a taxi to the airport, but now I’m not so sure.

  1. are you having lightning? Hope your training sessions are going well. It must be ever so much better than trying to train Dad and I!!! ….you don’t have to agree so quickly! Safe journey. Mom

  2. I’m back home, safe and sound. The training was a success, and the class was enthusiastic about what I was showing them. That feels good. What didn’t feel so good was arriving home late last night. It was only 11 pm local time when the taxi dropped me off, but my body had already turned around to Eastern time, so it was a very long day. Working from home today.
