I’ve Crossed the Line – NaNoWriMo 2015

Tonight, I crossed the target 50,000 word mark for National Novel Writing Month. Technically, that means I’ve won for the eighth year in a row, but I’ve got a new goal in front of me: finish this book.

It’s not done, and I’ve got the rest plotted out. I really want to see it finished. I am having great success this year. There have been difficult evenings where I didn’t want to go and sit at the typewriter, but every time I’ve done so I’ve had to pull myself away again after putting out another 1,800 words or so. It’s just been going so well.

Tammy’s coming along well, too. She’s well ahead on her word count. Just not as possessed as I am… 😜

Count it.
Count it.

  1. You know, this might end up going that extra mile. I’m already thinking about the editing process. Normally, that doesn’t happen for months and months afterwards.

  2. And NaNoWriMo 2015 comes to an end. I worked right up to the end this year, striving to reach that elusive “The End”. 70,196 words later (155 typed pages) and I think there are about two or three chapters left with what I’ve plotted out. Everything has been coming together very well considering the rate at which I’ve been working. I averaged 2,339 words per day for the month.
I broke one of the rules of NaNoWriMo a couple of times this month: re-reading parts of what I’d written. I was doing it mostly to figure out how to pick up where I left off in an earlier session. My thought at the time was “I’d read that”.
