Signing up for summer camps

For the second year, here we are, signing up for summer camps in the middle of winter. Unlike last year, where we planned things out, this year it was an “oh crap” moment when we realized that registration opened yesterday and we hadn’t done anything.

So this morning, Tammy and the kids were reading through camp descriptions and shouting out when they were available as I was registering one camp at a time.

In the end, we got them registered for the whole seven weeks. Ian’s a little upset right now because we couldn’t fit in Active Gaming. It didn’t have any spots on the weeks that were still available.

This year’s damage: $1905 for Ian, $1830 for Miranda.

  1. Thanks to the healthy charge for these camps. we’re getting our taxes done today. No sense in waiting. The receipts we don’t have yet are very predictable.

Dang. We can’t submit electronically until February 15th. Will be a healthy return when we do. Again, we used SimpleTax (https://simpletax.ca). It’s really cool: Tammy was researching our figures while I was punching in the deductions. We didn’t have to care who was going to end up claiming it: SimpleTax treats our returns jointly and distributes the claims in an optimized way. Once mine was filled in, all Tammy had to do was enter her T4 information and we were done.
